Welcome to the Salzberg Lab

Our research is focused on molecular mechanisms that regulate pattern formation in the developing metazoan.

We are using the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as a genetic model organism for studying pattern formation in the peripheral nervous system (PNS).

We focus mainly on the development of proprioceptors (chordotonal organs) and use various genetic and molecular tools to gain insight into processes of cell fate determination, cell migration, differentiation and morphogenesis.

The lab is part of the Department of Genetics in the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. It is located on the 4th floor of the Rappaport building, Bat-Galim, Haifa (next to the Rambam health care campus).
